WordPecker

Privacy Policy

Updated September 13, 2026•Version 2026-09-13.1

This notice describes how WordPecker handles information in its language-learning app, account services, subscriptions, and advertising features. You can read it without creating an account. Send privacy questions and requests to info@wordpeckerapp.com.

Account and profile information

We collect the name and email address your Google account shares when you sign in with Google. WordPecker never receives or stores a password. Authentication records include session identifiers, sign-in times, IP addresses, and browser or device information.

Your learning profile includes information you provide during setup and in Settings: display name, country and city, occupation, interface and native languages, target language, declared language level, interests, study goals, time zone, and notification preferences. Some profile information is optional; the relevant form identifies what is needed to continue.

Learning, conversations, and support

We store your learning contexts, vocabulary, known-word signals, curriculum, exercise responses, attempts, scores, activity history, and measured progress. We also store tutor messages and saved tutor memories used to personalize later conversations.

Feedback and support requests contain the messages and account information you provide. Avoid including passwords, payment-card details, or sensitive information about yourself or another person in tutor messages or support requests.

Why we process this information

Account information lets us authenticate you, maintain sessions, recover access, and respond to account requests. Profile and learning information lets us create personalized exercises, adapt difficulty, save progress, and provide tutor responses.

AI usage and allowance records let us apply plan limits, prevent duplicate allowance deductions, and show usage alerts. Purchase and reward records let us verify access and investigate missing benefits. Network and operational records help detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and diagnose failures.

Usage notifications appear in the app. A daily study reminder, when you turn it on, is scheduled on your device by the app itself; nothing is sent from our servers, and WordPecker sends no marketing emails.

AI processing and saved memories

WordPecker uses OpenAI or DeepSeek, depending on the AI service enabled for the app, to generate content and tutor replies. Requests can include your learning profile, identifiers used to associate a request, context descriptions, vocabulary, exercise information, relevant conversation history, and saved memories. This can include information you enter in free text.

You can view and remove saved tutor memories. Removing a memory stops it being included as a saved memory in future requests; it does not retract information already sent to a provider or remove an earlier conversation containing the same information.

AI outputs can be inaccurate. Measured levels and recommendations support learning; they are not official qualifications. Provider processing and retention depend on the applicable service terms and settings. Deleting a WordPecker account does not itself erase a provider's separate records.

Subscriptions and purchase information

Google Play processes Android subscription payments. WordPecker receives purchase tokens, product identifiers, subscription status and dates, and account-association information to verify and restore access. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Google Play.

Google operates its payment service under its own terms and privacy policy. Deleting the app or deleting your WordPecker account does not cancel a subscription. Use Google Play subscription management to stop renewal.

Advertising and your choices

When Android advertising is enabled, Google AdMob and its advertising partners may process device or advertising identifiers, IP addresses, device information, ad interactions, and consent choices. Reward verification also associates an ad completion with a reward session for your WordPecker account.

Where required, the advertising consent flow asks for your choices before ads can be requested. Ad privacy choices appears on the AI usage screen when the provider requires that control. You can revisit it to change the available choices. Ad availability depends on these choices and provider rules.

Choosing an optional reward ad is separate from accepting the Terms of Service. A declined or unavailable reward ad does not prevent access to saved learning. The current web app does not display AdMob ads.

Cookies and storage on your device

The web app uses authentication cookies to keep you signed in and browser storage to remember your appearance preference. Native apps use secure device storage for session information, appearance settings, and pending reward references. Advertising SDKs also manage their own consent and device information.

You can clear site data through your browser or app data through your device settings. This can sign you out or remove local preferences; it does not delete your server-side account, cancel a subscription, or remove external provider records.

Service providers and other disclosures

Hosting and database services process the records needed to run WordPecker. OpenAI or DeepSeek processes AI requests. Google processes your sign-in and shares your name and email address with WordPecker. Google Play and AdMob process purchase or advertising information as described above.

Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law or valid legal process, or where necessary to investigate fraud, protect accounts, or resolve a dispute. Providers may process information outside your country. A provider's privacy notice does not replace WordPecker's own obligations under applicable privacy law.

Retention and account deletion

Account and learning records remain in the active database while your account exists so you can resume learning. A successful account deletion removes your authentication accounts and sessions, profile, contexts, vocabulary, curriculum, progress, conversations, saved memories, feedback, usage history, quota records, purchase associations, and reward sessions from that database.

Delete your account in Settings or use the public Delete account link below. The public page requires the WordPecker Android app to confirm the Google account you signed in with; email support if you cannot use the app. Deletion is permanent and does not cancel Google Play billing.

Operational logs, backups, support correspondence, and records controlled by AI, email, payment, or advertising providers are separate from the active account database. They are not all removed by the account-deletion action. Contact us about a retained copy or a request you cannot complete in the app.

Privacy requests and complaints

You can update supported profile fields, change usage-alert preferences, remove saved memories, and delete your account in the app. Email info@wordpeckerapp.com to request access, a copy of your information, correction, or deletion you cannot complete yourself. Include your account email and describe the request; do not send your password.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent, and complain to a data-protection authority. Withdrawal does not undo processing that was lawful beforehand. We may need proportionate information to verify a request before disclosing or changing account data. Applicable legal exceptions and response deadlines still apply.

Security and changes to this notice

WordPecker uses Google-verified sign-in tokens, authenticated access controls, and request limits. No storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security. Tell support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

The date and version above identify this notice. Material changes to processing need an updated notice and any additional information or choices required by applicable law. Posting a revised notice does not replace consent where consent is required.
